Caroline Hartz, PsyD

Dr. Hartz (she/her) is a postdoctoral fellow in clinical psychology. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from James Madison University, a master’s degree in psychology from American University, and a master’s and doctorate degree in clinical psychology from La Salle University with a specialization in child psychology. She completed her predoctoral clinical internship in health service psychology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine – Kennedy Krieger Institute, where she completed two rotations in the Child and Family Therapy Clinic and the Pediatric Psychology Consultation Program. Her clinical work includes supporting children, young adults, and families with anxiety, mood, and behavioral concerns, as well as health-related issues such as coping with and adjusting to chronic illness, sleep disorders, procedural anxiety, pain management, rehabilitation participation, and coping with hospitalization. She also completed the Maternal and Child Health Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Other Related Disabilities (LEND) program.

Caroline Hartz, PhD

Dr. Hartz has experience delivering a range of evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), behavioral activation, and incorporates components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness. Additionally, Dr. Hartz has a background in assessment, including neuropsychological/ psychoeducational testing for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Dr. Hartz enjoys working with people of all backgrounds and integrating culture-based questions in new visits to ensure assessment and treatment align with client and family values. She is devoted to affirming care and adapting treatment to best fit a client’s unique needs.

Her therapeutic approach involves collaboration, humor, and humility.

In her free time, Dr. Hartz enjoys taking her dog on adventures, game nights with friends, and working on puzzles. Dr. Hartz can be reached at drhartz@changeanxiety.com.
