Rockville office

Judy McDonald earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Georgetown University and is currently in her 3rd year of a Clinical Psychology doctoral program at The Catholic University of America (CUA). In her 2nd year of CUA’s doctoral program, she worked as a trainee therapist in the campus counseling center working with emerging adults struggling with anxiety, mood disorders, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, OCD, body-image issues, and more.

Judy implements evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and psychophysiological interventions, as well as existential and relational methods in her therapy practice. She takes immense pride in building strong rapport with clients, contributing to a sound therapeutic alliance. She hopes to build upon a foundation of evidence-based, empathetic care through acquiring additional training in both the theory and practice of behavioral therapy while working with younger populations at CABC.
