Kathleen King, LCSW

Kathleen King is a licensed clinical social worker who received her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at George Mason University. She has worked in a variety of settings with individuals across the lifespan treating obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, as well as clinical depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment disorders, ADHD, school refusal and other mood and behavioral disorders. Her goal is to provide a welcoming and non-judgmental space filled with compassion and support to help individuals overcome obstacles and manage life stressors using healthy and positive coping mechanisms.  Taking an empathetic and culturally sensitive approach, she aims to connect with individuals in a way that would leave them feeling understood.

Ms. King practices from a person-centered and trauma-informed lens and utilizes evidenced-based interventions some of which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered/Strengths Based, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She integrates play therapy, art, music, and other creative means to help engage clients into therapy. Outside of work she loves being a mom, spending time with family, and being outdoors with her dogs.
